I am a big fan of the Digitech 5W UHF Handheld Transceiver - DC1068, however the included small user guide does a "poor" job of explaining some features and some features are not listed at all. From my own testing and use, I have made some discoveries and found some better ways of doing things.
- Hard Reset:
I had a case where the whole radio locked up and any input was met with a beep. After some testing, I found that if you hold the CALL/MON button on the side, while turning the DC1068 on, it will do a full factory reset, including deleting all programmed RX channels.

- Deleting Memory Channels:
The user manual makes no reference to how to delete a programmed RX channel. To do this you need to do this:
* Enter memory mode (hold the top middle button until a RX channel comes up)
* Find the memory channel you want to remove.
* Set the second (KHz) part of the frequency to .0000
* Set the first (MHz) part of the frequency to 000.
* Hit the PTT button to save this. This clears this memory channel and it will no longer appear when you scan or manually scroll.
- Adding channels to Group Scan:
This is not explained very well in the user guide. I have found the easiest way is to do this:
* Press the top middle button five (5) times, until the frequency screen is flashing.
* Press the M.Sel button, if MEM is solid on the screen, this channel is part of the Group Scan. If MEM is flashing, it is not part of the Group Scan.
* Use the up / down arrows to select each channel and press M.Sel to add / remove as needed.

- RX Only Audio Connection:
The official headsets are no longer stocked by JayCar and they are hard to find online. If you only want to listen (not transmit), this adaptor will allow you to use any earphones.
